Install instructions

Decal installation

As of March 1, 2024, we've enhanced our product to better accommodate your decorating needs. Now compatible with both Wash and Wear and Teflon paints, our wallpapers no longer require the additional step of wall prep with primers. This upgrade aims to streamline your installation process, ensuring a smoother, more efficient application.

BEFORE YOU  START: Prepare your walls

To install, start by washing your hands and wiping over your wall with a damp microfibre cloth. This step is important to ensure that you have a clean surface. Our decals come to you precut, making it an easier-than-ever application for you.

Remove your decals from the box and gently roll out the decal sheet until flat.

Gently peel away the decal from the backing, place the decal in the desired location on the wall and smooth it down gently with your hands.

You may remove and re-stick the decal until you are happy with the placement.

Our decals are opaque which means you are able to install them over coloured walls or overlap them to achieve your desired book.

Roll up the decal backing and keep it in case you wish to transport them in the future.

Wallpaper Installation Guide

BEFORE YOU  START: Prepare your walls

Our wallpaper is made from a polyester fabric with medium-tack adhesive backing. Our wallpaper is removable and reusable, which makes it easier to hanle during the installation process. It is easy to install and you don't require any prior experience. However, if you are not confident, or have a spaece that is more complicated to install our product, we always recommend hiring a profssional who has experience with Self Adhesive Wallpaper.

Please read these instructions below, they are a guide to installing your wallpaper.

Equipment

  • You’ll need a step ladder,
  • a sharp Stanley knife
  • a Microfibre cloth for cleaning
  • possibly a second pair of hands (can be installed by 1 person)
  • Make sure your walls are clean and dust free, and wipe the skirting boards too.
  • Remove any picture hooks, tacks or blue tack, and any switch plates.
  • Make sure your hands are clean.

Getting started
Unroll the panels, each panel is numbered on the back at the top – you’ll be putting up panel #1 on the left and then applying them to the right.
Lay the first-panel design down on a clean, flat surface.
Peel the top edge back 20cm and fold the backing paper back so it stays out of the way.

Installation
Use your step ladder to hang the first panel of wallpaper on the wall, and line it up under the cornice. Then let the panel fall naturally.
If the side of the wall is not covered all the way to the corner, allow an extra centimetre across the corner – this can be trimmed off at the end. Pull it off again if you’re not happy, and reapply.
Once you are happy with how it is placed, use the squeegee you received with your order (or your hand) and smooth it from the top in a down-and-out motion to “sweep” out any air pockets.
Work slowly and peel down the backing sheet in 30cm increments whilst smoothing the wallpaper onto the wall. This will help you to avoid air bubbles.

Dealing with wrinkles and bubbles
Large bubbles should just smooth out but if they get trapped or you get a crease, just peel back the panel to release them rather than rubbing the print.

Matching the design and installing the remaining panels
For the remaining panels, you need to repeat the above (installation instructions) to get it safely on the wall and off the backing paper.
Each panel is made to overlap the previous panel by approximately 1-2cm.
Line up the pattern up and down the overlapping join and stick it to the wall but only enough to hold the panel flat to the wall – you can smooth it completely to the wall once the entire join is matched. Work slowly here and line up the pattern the best you can.
TIP: More intricate patterns can be nore trcky to line up, try using painters taoe to allign the panels before installing. Also titing the panel by a few degrees left or right can help allign the pattern as you move down the panel.

Trimming
Only once all the panels are adhered and aligned can you trim off the excess wallpaper. Run your sharp Stanley knife blade along the sides and bottom. Carefully trim around power points then replace the plates.

Moving the panels
If you want to move the wallpaper to a different wall, you need to apply it to the backing paper vertically to avoid debris getting on the sticky side.
Stick a panel of the backing paper on the wall next to the panel you want to remove – stick it at the top and bottom with masking tape or similar.
Peel the panel of wallpaper off the wall and move it across and stick it onto the backing paper, getting it lined up as best as possible.
It will help to have a second pair of hands to guide the bottom of the panel.
Once stuck, roll up the panel and protect any exposed edges – wrap in bubble wrap.

Please keep the white backing paper if you intend to move your wallpaper, or move home!
